Texas Instruments Introduces SuperBundle Featuring Lotus Organizer® 97 GS

Integrated Personal Information Management
Provides Solution For Business Professionals

June 2, 1997- DALLAS - Texas Instruments, the pioneer of Complete Solutions for personal organization, unveils the TI SuperBundle™ at COMDEX '97 today. This premium package combines a powerful 256KB TI organizer, PC Link and cable, and Lotus Organizer 97 GS software to provide users with an integrated personal information management system, all in one package.

What does this mean to users? It means that with one purchase they can get all the hardware and software needed to create a comprehensive system for managing personal information in and away from their office or home.

"Our focus is on providing users with Complete Solutions to their organizing needs," said Melissa Stoll, business manager, Pocket Solutions. "The TI SuperBundle takes Data Synchronization to the next level by combining -- physically and electronically -- a powerful, yet pocketable, TI Personal Organizer and PC Link with Lotus Organizer 97 GS, the leading time management system for Windows."

"The combination of the Texas Instruments hand-held electronic organizer with Lotus' award-winning personal information management software offers one of the most powerful time management solutions on the market today," said Jim Burnham, director of marketing for calendaring and scheduling, Lotus Development Corporation. "With TI s one-button synchronization, now integrated into Lotus Organizer 97 GS software, users can carry their most important information from their PC anywhere they go. For people on the move, this should provide an invaluable advantage."

TI is offering this multi-function personal organization solution for people who strive for better time management and increased productivity and synchronization with their PC. Contact information, calendar reminders, to do lists, notes, and anniversaries can be entered on the hand-held organizer or PC, then synchronized with one touch of the Data Synchronization icon on the tool bar to ensure that information is the same on both. Users can then carry essential information with them for quick, easy access.

TI's SuperBundle is the latest in a series of product introductions focusing on making information management easier and PC connectivity more effortless. After introducing Personal Organizers with Data Synchronization last year, TI expanded on this strategy by working with other companies to embed TI's Data Synchronization software feature directly into their software. This provides users with one-touch synchronizing for seamless transfer of information between TI Personal Organizers and specific information management programs on their PCs.

SuperBundle Components

Weighing about 5 ounces, the TI Personal Organizer features a six-line, 24-character display with INDIGLO. night-light for easy viewing in low-light. Scan keys provide quick access to calendar, reminder, address and note entries.
Daily alarms, rolling to-do lists, and calculator capabilities further enhance the unit' s functionality.

Included in the TI SuperBundle, is a PC Link and cable that connects the Personal Organizer with the Lotus Organizer 97 GS software on the user s PC. Through this connection, Data Synchronization intelligently compares and matches entries to ensure that changes made in one are matched to the appropriate section in the other. For instance, Reminders with a time entered in the Personal Organizer are synchronized with the Calendar section in the Lotus Organizer software; Address information in the Lotus Organizer is synchronized with the Addresses section in the Personal Organizer.

Lotus Organizer has a worldwide installed base of 20 million users. Its award-winning personal information manager has a datebook-style user interface that appeals to individuals from all types of organizations. The Organizer version available in the SuperBundle is the latest available and offers enhanced capabilities for time management.

The SuperBundle includes Lotus Organizer 97 GS on a CD ROM, compatible with Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0. Diskettes are available by mail. The SuperBundle requires an IBM-compatible PC (486 of higher), 8 MB of RAM (12MB recommended), CD ROM drive, and 15 MB of hard disk available. Also needed is a serial port, a VGA monitor and a pointing device.

The TI SuperBundle will be available this summer at office and electronic superstores nationwide at an estimated street price of $199.
