The Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) division of Texas Instruments, known as TIRIS, has officially changed its name to Texas Instruments RFID (TI-RFid™) Systems. The new name more closely aligns the division with Texas Instruments corporate name, and leverages the TI brand as a leading global technology innovator.
“The TIRIS name is firmly established in our core automatic ID and other key markets, like automotive security and livestock where TI products have been in use for almost a decade,” explained Dave Slinger, vice president of Texas Instruments RFID Systems. “But there are many opportunities in new industries where RFID is just emerging. As we expand into these new and varied markets, we wanted to leverage the Texas Instruments brand more directly across all markets and applications.”
TI-RFid™ recently announced its eCommerce capabilities, called eStore, which makes its RFID products more readily available for engineers and systems integrators to evaluate and deploy RFID technology for new applications. Through a distribution agreement with Dynasys Technologies Inc., TI-RFid™ is also expanding national sales & marketing of its RFID solutions.
