))) Texas Instruments RFID Systems Enhances eStore Offerings with Tag-it™ High Frequency RFID Evaluation Kit

))) DALLAS, TX (July 24, 2001)

Texas Instruments Radio Frequency Identification (TI-RFid™) Systems, a leading developer and manufacturer of field-proven RFID solutions, today announced the availability of its Tag-it™ High Frequency (HF) Evaluation Kit through its online eStore at www.ti-rfid.com. The new RFID high frequency kit, which comes with TI's S6000 Reader/Antenna set, Tag-it™ 13.56 MHz transponders in four different form factors and various samples of finished product labels, is designed to help engineers quickly and easily implement RFID solutions for product authentication, supply chain and logistics applications. The kit also includes a CD with technical documentation and a "Getting Started" guide to help users with set-up. Customers can purchase the kits on the TI-RFid™ secure Web site for $895 using a credit card.

Designed for industries that need to quickly and accurately identify, track and manage thousands or even millions of items, TI-RFid™ System's Tag-it™ smart labels provide an easy-to-integrate, cost-effective, consumable RFID solution. Consisting of an integrated circuit, an antenna and requiring no batteries, Tag-it™ inlays feature a large, 256-bit user programmable memory and an anti-collision algorithm for Simultaneous Identification (SID). Tag-it™ inlays are paper-thin making them easily incorporated into smart labels, embedded into source tags or laminated into cards. Additionally, this technology is not hampered by harsh or dirty environments and does not require a direct line of sight.

"The online availability of the Tag-it™ High Frequency Evaluation Kit gives a wider audience of engineers access to RFID technology and a more cost effective way to get started in their efforts to find new ways to use the technology" said Bill Allen, eMarketing manager, Texas Instruments RFID Systems.

The TI-RFid™ eStore makes a variety of RFID products more readily available for engineers and systems integrators to evaluate and deploy RFID technology for new applications. Since October 2000, TI-RFid™ has offered low frequency RFID products including transponders, reader modules, power supplies and a Low Frequency (LF) Evaluation Kit on the site. The company plans to extend site functionality and continue to expand product offerings in coming months.
