))) Texas Instruments RFID Systems Launches Product Information Center to Provide Technical Support for European Customers

))) DALLAS, TX (July 22, 2002)

Texas Instruments Radio Frequency Identification (TI-RFid™) Systems today announced the launch of its RFID European Product Information Center (EPIC), in Freising, Germany. An extension of Texas Instruments' semiconductor Product Information Centers, support staff at the RFID EPIC are now available to assist customers with technical support questions regarding TI-RFid™ products and applications. Assistance is available in multiple languages, including English, German, Italian, and Spanish.

Use of RFID technology continues to grow, especially in Europe, a region well-known for its early adoption of new technologies and applications. Texas Instruments RFID Systems has long been a premiere supplier of RFID tags and readers to companies around the globe for applications including inventory tracking, animal identification, retail payment, and access control. The RFID EPIC was established to support TI-RFid™'s growing international customer base which includes companies such as UK retailer Marks & Spencer, which recently announced it plans to integrate more than 3 million RFID tags in its refrigerated supply chain.

The opening of the RFID EPIC demonstrates Texas Instruments' vision and commitment to providing its customers with the highest level of customer care and quality service. Dedicated and fully-trained staff members are available by phone during business hours Monday through Friday, and can also be reached by fax or email, in all languages. For a complete listing of service hours and regional, multi-lingual phone numbers, please visit our contact page.

"As the uses and applications of RFID technology continue to grow, we're seeing an increasing need to provide our customers with product and installation information and technical support," said Alan Irby, customer support manager for TI-RFid™ Systems. "We've built an extensive program in the U.S., and with the launch of these services in Germany, we now provide the same high quality support to our European customers.
