Texas Instruments Radio Frequency Identification (TI-RFid™) Systems today announced that AMAG Technology Group, a division of Group 4 Falck, a global technology solutions provider in the security industry, will resell Texas Instruments’ line of 13.56 MHz RFID cards and readers for access control. AMAG Technology Group will also incorporate TI’s 13.56 MHz RFID technology into two of their new reader products — the S820 Wall Switch Reader and S830 Micro Proximity Reader — which will be shown at the ISC West Conference and Expo in the AMAG Technology Booth # 22026S.
AMAG will offer TI’s 13.56 MHz RFID access control cards and readers as part of the AMAG Technology Access Control Solutions. TI’s 13.56 MHz ISO 15693 vicinity cards carry 256 bytes of memory for stronger security and on-the-card programming that lets security personnel customize their data and authorization requirements. With data written and stored on the card, employees can carry vital information such as authorization codes, certification or emergency medical histories. The 13.56 MHz readers offer a 40 percent longer read range and a faster data transfer rate compared with traditional systems. They also enable data to be read and written to cards automatically, without having to issue new badges or cards each time information is changed. Texas Instruments RFid Systems will demonstrate its complete line of 13.56 MHz access control cards and readers, including its new Long Range Gate Reader and Pin Pad Reader, at ISC West.
“AMAG Technology is committed to empowering its customers with a wide range of best-of-breed partner products that integrate with AMAG access control and security management software,” said Robert Sawyer, President and CEO of AMAG Technology, Inc. “TI is a respected global technology brand and we are pleased to offer a range of smart card products that feature their intellectual property.”
“That a key security solution provider such as AMAG is embracing 13.56 MHz technology for access control is a solid indication that the market is moving toward advanced levels of security to protect both personnel and property,” said Kelly Stark, business manager, access control, Texas Instruments RFid Systems.
