RFIdirector the first middleware solution for RFID & UID data and process integration

...helps DoD suppliers gain compliance, reduce costs, increases asset visibility, and saves time in shipping

Heathrow, FL (March 21, 2005)

RFideaWorks Corp. announced today that its middleware solution, RFIdirector (TM applied for), is the first to achieve RFID & UID data and process integration by assigning Unique Identification numbers (UID's) for suppliers of the U.S. Department of Defense using their business rules, applying them directly to high-value assets during part-marking, tracking them during manufacturing, and recording the build transactions for later use in RFID-enabled shipping. UID's are now required for all $5,000+ items delivered to the military. Legacy items will also require UID's. DoD's timetable for other items shipped to RFID-enabled depots is expected to be announced in late spring 2005, but will become mandatory for all manufacturers and suppliers by 2007. RFIdirector's ability to leverage UID helps ensure DoD compliance, reduces supplier costs of multiple systems, provides asset visibility, and increases their shipping efficiencies by putting this key functionality under a single solution whose "touch points" include configuration management, manufacturing & work-in-process, maintenance, repair & overhaul, shipping/distribution, and accounting business processes.

According to Gerry Bradley, vice president of technology at RFideaWorks, "UID functionality is just another example of RFIdirector's added value for customers using this as part of their total enterprise RFID solution – at no additional cost." Serial number tracking (SNT's) for DoD can also be handled by RFIdirector.

RFIdirector middleware supports EPCglobal, ISO, ANSI/NCITS 256, ATA's Spec2000 standards, and other data formats including proprietary. RFIdirector is integrated with IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft databases.

RFideaWorks Corp., with headquarters in Heathrow, Florida, specializes in advanced RFID software solutions, consulting, and implementation services.
