Building Residential
VoIP Gateways: A Tutorial—Part Four, Demand For VoIP
Security (PDF, 494K) VoIP gateways
and IP phones are vulnerable to many Internet attacks,
such as malformed frames or packet floods. VoIP CPE
equipment is further open to security risks such as
intrusion, monitoring, alteration of the packet contents
and destination addresses, and identity fraud in a
non-managed environment. As a result, VoIP security has
become a mission-critical element for the deployment of
CPE products. This fourth article in a series on CPE
voice gateways, written by TI's Debbie Greenstreet and
Sophia Scoggins, addresses the implementation of
security in residential voice gateways. Downloadable PDF

seek you out to deliver the services you need, when and
where you need them. Ashley Johnston and Irvind Ghai
examine some of the underlying network changes being put
into place to make ubiquitous voice communications a
reality. From Business Management Asia.
