Understanding the CAN Controller on the TMS320C24x DSP Controller

The Texas Instruments (TI)(tm) TMS320F241, TMS320C241 and TMS320F243 digital signal processor (DSP) controllers contain an on-chip Control Area Network (CAN) module. This module is a FullCAN controller (Specification 2.0B). This application report describes the TMS320X241/3 CAN module. Software examples are included for different modes of operation of the on-chip CAN module along with an application example for controlling the speed of a three-phase induction motor using the CAN bus.
