   Effective January 1996, Texas Instruments SC has discontinued it's participation and support of any further development efforts of ANSI X12 EDI Standards. All related resources and activities are being redirected towards a UN/EDIFACT focus. Any involvement to other EDI Regional or Industry Standards bodies not related to UN/EDIFACT are also being terminated.

Our strategic direction in this area is towards the encouragement, development, and support of an unconditionally acceptable, world-wide Electronic Data Interchange standard.

This initiative does not impact our existing base of ANSI X12 or other Non-EDIFACT engagements already in production. However, UN/EDIFACT is being strongly advocated henceforth for any new EDI Trading Partner events.
