1. What is the TI Toolbar?

TI Toolbar

The TI Toolbar is a search toolbar that a web site user may install on his personal computer. When installed, this software application will reside in the top toolbar portion of Internet Explorer. The TI Toolbar offers an embedded search as well as "Quick Links" to commonly accessed areas on the TI web site.

2. What are the system requirements to run the TI Toolbar?

The TI Toolbar can be installed on:

  • A computer running Windows (98/2000/NT/XP). It might also work with Windows 95 and Windows Me but is not supported for those systems.
  • A Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, version 5.00 or later.
  • TI Toolbar might work with Explorer 4 but is not supported

3. Does the toolbar support other Operating Systems and Browsers like UNIX and Netscape?

The TI Toolbar is only available for Windows and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Most of the other browsers and platforms do not include the programming links to support external toolbars.

5. I have installed the TI Toolbar but I don't see it. Where is it?

If the TI Toolbar does not appear:

  • Go to Explorer's View menu, choose Toolbars, and select the TI Toolbar or right-click in the toolbar area and select the toolbar's label to turn it on.
  • If you are installing the TI Toolbar on Windows 2000, XP Professional, and NT systems you must be logged in as the Administrator or must have the administrator privileges.

6. How do I use the TI Toolbar?

There are two ways:

Click in the search box and type the term to search. For a Site Search, press Enter or Return or click Site Search button. For Partial Part Number search, click the Partial Part Number Search button. The terms you typed will be searched using TI search engine and results will be displayed in the browser window. This is the same as using the Search features on the TI site but can be accessed without going to TI site.

Click on the TI logo to see a list of popular destinations. To navigate to a destination select the destination and you will be directly transported to that page.

7. How do I display or hide the TI Toolbar once it's installed?
  1. Right-click on the toolbar area and select the TI Toolbar option from the drop down menu to turn it on or off.
  2. Select the TI Toolbar option from the Toolbars choice in Explorer's View menu.

8. How do I move the TI Toolbar to a different position on my Internet Explorer top toolbar?

To move the TI Toolbar to a different location drag the "handle" to the left of the button with the TI Logo on it.

9. How do I uninstall the TI Toolbar?

To uninstall the TI Toolbar select the uninstall option from the pop up menu. This will open the Add/Remove Programs option of the Control Panel. Select the TI Toolbar from the list of available options and click on the remove button.

10. Experiencing broken links, or want to check for a new version of TI Toolbar?

Go to your TI Toolbar, click on the drop-down menu, and go to "Check for Updates". Your system will be checked for its Toolbar version. You can download a more recent version if it is available.

12. How do I request a feature for a future version?

To request a new feature, please contact TI Toolbar Support at toolbar@list.ti.com. We welcome all enhancements but there is no guarantee and no compensation for ideas or suggestions.

13. Is the TI Toolbar safe to install on my personal computer?

We have tested the TI Toolbar on a very wide variety of systems and believe it to be very safe. But we cannot guarantee that it will be bug-free or it will not cause issues. To install the TI Toolbar, you must accept End User License Agreement.

14. How much does the TI Toolbar cost?

The TI Toolbar is free for you to download and use. We are distributing it to help people access the vast amount of design and application information available on the TI site.

15. Can I redistribute the TI Toolbar software?

Any one can get TI Toolbar for free at our Installation page. You can not distribute the software without prior permission.
