Front Camera

Automotive front camera module with integrated image processing used in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) from Texas Instruments

Reference Designs

Automotive Front Camera is a machine vision system for ADAS that uses images from a forward facing camera to perform tasks such as lane departure warning, object detection, distance measurement or traffic sign recognition amongst others. The output can either be a warning to the driver or direct control of certain car functions like steering or braking.

  • Digital signal communication replaces analog to allow higher bandwidth and image processing
  • Reduced solution size and reduced power dissipation are critical for reducing camera module size
  • Reduced weight and complexity of the wiring harness saves cost and fuel
  • DSP performance increases to run multiple and higher-performance vision algorithms
