The servo drive energy recovery system feeds back energy to the grid when the motor is braking rather than dissipating the braking energy into heat. A high efficiency DC/AC three-phase fast switching isolated power stage with accurate current/voltage sensing and sophisticated control enables power efficient and green energy servo drives. The servo drive energy recovery system requires basic or reinforced isolation with high EMC immunity depending on the grid voltage. TI reference designs and solutions help solve these system design challenges.
