Description

TI Designs for smarter water meters solve design challenges presented by many of the most popular types of sensors used by meter manufacturers today. Traditional positive displacement water meters use the water flow to mechanically rotate a component and measure flow rate. Ultrasonic meters replace the mechanical components with ultrasound transducers and measure the time of flight to determine flow rate. The lack of moving parts can greatly enhance reliability.

Water meters for revenue-grade residential, commercial, and industrial applications will benefit from TI Designs which maximize measurement accuracy and minimize energy consumption to extend the life of batteries. TI Designs for RF communications support all major protocols for Automated Meter Reading (AMR) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) networks.
