Effective AUGUST 2015:  Subscription is no longer required

To have the best experience developing software for TI embedded devices, it is best to be using the latest development tools.

  • Texas Instruments no longer requires an active subscription to upgrade Code Composer Studio IDE (CCS).
  • CCS v6.1.1 - As of v6.1.1, CCS will not require you to upgrade your license file.
For example, if you have a CCS v5 license and choose to upgrade to v6.1.1, all you need is your existing license. That license will work for v6.1.1 and all future CCS versions.
  • Using CCS v6.0 or v6.1.0? - If you wish to use these earlier versions of CCS v6 and you already have a CCS v5 license, please contact The team will provide you with an updated license file.
  • Additional questions? - Contact

Previously, annual subscription was used to determine if a user would receive major upgrades to Code Composer Studio (CCS). When you purchased CCS, it came with 12 months of subscription and it could then be renewed on a yearly basis afterwards. Minor updates were provided regardless of subscription status, but upgrades from CCS v4 to v5, or to v6 required active subscriptions. This is no longer required.
