Description

The PMP30331 reference design is for an input voltage from 5V to 16V.  Cranking is possible for voltages as low as 4V and load dump for voltages to 36V.  This reference design uses the SEPIC topology as a cost effective alternative for 4 switch buck-boost (for low power).

  • Power stage optimized for 13.8V nominal input
  • Small size
  • Better efficiency due to synchronous topology (about 5% compared to non-synchronous)
  • Highest reliability due to low thermal stress even at full load
