Description

The PMP4466 is an AC input to 5V 3A output reference design for high current charger applications, such as USB Type-C. The topology is Synchronous Rectified valley switched DCM Flyback which uses the UCC28740 and UCC24636. Good regulation and dynamic performance is achieved by using the secondary side regulation controller UCC28740.  Also Volt-Second balancing SR controller UCC24636 is adopted in the design to improve the efficiency. The solution easily exceeds DoE Level VI and EU CoC V5 Tier-2 standards.
