Description

PMP6997 is a single-phase synchronous switching regulator with PMBus accepting an input voltage range of 4.5Vin to 14Vin and providing an output voltage of 1.2Vout capable of supplying 20A of current. This design uses the TPS40400 synchronous buck controller with PMBus and two CSD86350Q5D power block MOSFETs. Electrical and thermal tests results are provided for 12Vin, 1.2Vout, and 20A output. An on board dynamic load allows rapid load transients to be tested. Additionally, an on board TLC555 timer can be used to demonstrate external synchronization.
