Description

PMP841 is a high efficiency, non-isolated Power-over-Ethernet PD power supply reference design intended to ease implementation of PoE in devices such as IP phones, WLAN AP's and security cameras. The reference design uses a TPS2375 PoE Powered Device Controller to implement all necessary detection, classification, inrush current limiting, UVLO and switch FET control necessary to be compliant with the IEEE802.3af Power-over-Ethernet standard. A TPS40061, high-voltage, wide input (10 V to 55 V) synchronous, step-down converter is used to generate 3.3V, 5V or 12V from the 48V PoE input. The design is optimized for maximum efficiency in the smallest board area possible.
