Instrument Cluster Applications for Automotive

PMP8549

Design files

Overview

This reference design supports the supply to power an instrument cluster application using the TPS54260-Q1. The device can handle an input range of 9V to 16V with an output of -6.5V at 400mA due to the inverting buck/boost regulator. It works in continuous conduction mode and a post-filter is optional for this design.

Features
  • Integrated 200mΩ N-channel FET to produce efficiency greater than 90% peak
  • Pulse skipping eco-mode allows for high light load efficiency
  • Device is optimized for low duty cycle operation or frequency band avoidance
  • Synchronized to external clock to eliminate beat noise
  • Adjustable slow start time to reduce in-rush currents
  • Power good, enable, and track pin to implement various sequencing schemes
