Overview

The TPS54202HEVM-716 is a fully assembled and tested circuit for evaluating the TPS54202H synchronous step-down SWIFT™ converter. The EVM converts a 4.2-V to 28-V input voltage to a regulated 5-V output voltage that delivers up to 2 A. The TPS54202H enables small designs by integrating the MOSFETs, internal compensation, and implementing current mode control to reduce external component count. Efficiency is maximized through the integrated 148-mΩ/78-mΩ MOSFETs, low quiescent supply current, and pulse skipping at light loads. Using the enable pin, shutdown supply current is reduced to 2 μA by entering shutdown mode.

Features
  • 4.2-V to 28-V input voltage range
  • 40-μA ultra-low quiescent supply current (IQ)
  • 94.06% efficiency (VIN = 12-V, IO = 1-A)
  • 0.6-V internal voltage reference
  • 2-μA shutdown quiescent current
  • High efficiency at light loads with pulse-skipping eco-mode
  • Monotonic start-up into pre-biased outputs
  • Synchronous 148-mΩ and 78-mΩ MOSFETs for 2-A continuous output current
