The CC2530ZDK is designed to deliver the most powerful elements for ZigBee and ZigBee PRO development in the market today. The kit is based on TI's second generation 2.4GHz IEEE 802.15.4 compliant System-on-Chip, the CC2530, and contains all hardware, software, tools, and documentation necessary to build a ZigBee compliant product. The CC2530ZDK includes CC2530-based evaluation modules, SmartRF05EB and SmartRFBB development boards, a USB interface dongle, cables, antennas and documentation to get you up and running with the ZStack on the CC2530. The CC2530EM evaluation modules can be plugged into SmartRF05EB and SmartRF05BB boards, which are included in the Development Kit. The evaluation modules can be used as a reference module for prototyping and for verifying the performance of the CC2530 RF IC. The CC2530 RF SoC enables both consumer and industrial grade applications by offering state-of-the-art selectivity/co-existence, excellent link budget, operation up to 125°C and low voltage operation. The CC2530ZDK comes with TI's ZigBee compliant Z-Stack supporting ZigBee, ZigBee PRO, and the Smart Energy and Home Automation application profiles.

The SmartRF05EB+CC2530EM or the CC2531 USB stick can be utilized as a capture device for the SmartRF Packet Sniffer.

A CC2530ZDK includes:

  • TI's ZigBee stack, Z-Stack (
  • 2 SmartRF05 Evaluation Boards
  • 5 SmartRF05 Battery Boards
  • 7 CC2530 Evaluation Modules
  • 1 CC2531 USB Dongle
  • Antennas and batteries
  • IAR EW8051 C-compiler with C-SPY debugger (30+30 day evaluation license.)

The CC2530ZDK is supported by the IAR EW8051 C-compiler, which is used with ZStack. The C-SPY debugger is used as an emulator interface. Both the C-compiler and the C-SPY debugger are included in the development kit as 30-day evaluation licenses. By registering the compiler with IAR, a 30-day extension of the license can be obtained.
