Kit Overview

The Stellaris LM3S2965 CAN Evaluation Kit provides a compact and versatile evaluation platform for CAN enabled Stellaris ARM® Cortex™-M3-based microcontrollers. Each board has an In-Circuit Debug Interface (ICDI) that provides hardware debugging functionality not only for the on-board Stellaris devices, but also for any Stellaris microcontroller-based target board. The evaluation kits contain all cables, software, and documentation needed to develop and run applications for Stellaris microcontrollers easily and quickly. The Stellaris LM3S2965 CAN Evaluation Kit is a fully operational CAN Network-in-a-box, with a quickstart sample application that includes a CAN network and CAN traffic, and features:

  • Simple setup: USB cable provides serial communication, debugging, and power
  • LM3S2965 CAN Evaluation Board, with:
    • 50 MHz Stellaris LM3S2965 ARM Cortex-M3-based microcontroller with integrated CAN
    • 128x64 pixel 16-shade monochromatic OLED display
    • User-programmable push buttons and LED
    • Magnetic speaker
    • Convenient reset push button and power indicator LED
    • Serial in-circuit debug interface over USB
    • Powered over USB with included USB cable
    • Break-out pads for all LM3S2965 I/O
  • LM3S2110 CAN Device Evaluation Board, with:
    • 25 MHz Stellaris LM3S2110 ARM Cortex-M3-based microcontroller with integrated CAN
    • User-programmable push buttons and LED
    • Convenient reset push button and power indicator LED
    • Serial in-circuit debug interface over USB
    • Powered over CAN with included CAN cable
    • Break-out pads for all LM3S2110 I/O
  • StellarisWare® Peripheral Driver Library, which provides a convenient, no-hassle method of initializing, programming, and controlling peripherals on Stellaris microcontrollers
  • Stellaris CD packed with:
    • Evaluation version of the software tools
    • Complete documentation: datasheets, schematics, applications notes, and programming examples
    • Quickstart guide
    • Quickstart application source code, including a fully functioning CAN network
