LINUXEZSDK-AM1810:
Real-Time Linux EZSDK for AM1810

Free

ACTIVE v4.01   20-Jun-11   ARM9

Description

The Real-Time Linux Software Development Kit (SDK) for the AM1810 EVMs provide a set of pre-tested system software components that enable OEMs to quickly develop industrial applications based on the AM1810 devices. This kit includes the Real-Time Linux operating system, middleware, device drivers, an application framework, certified Profibus slave stack from Technologie management Gruppe (TMG) with an evaluation license, and build tools. By making all the basic system software components immediately available, the Kit allows developers to focus on their application code, where they can add most differentiation.

This software is free and does not require any run-time royalties. Included Profibus slave stack enables users to completely evaluate Profibus solution for industrial communications applications. The Profibus slave stack is owned by TMG and it can be licensed by customers for one time licensing fee. If desired, customers can also use a Profibus slave stack from a different vendor or develop their own.

Features

The AM1810 SDK combines all the software components and tools needed to begin development of Linux-based applications on the ARM, and includes the following:

  • Real-Time Linux Platform Support Package (PSP) - The PSP is available on the AM18x and AM17x Floating-Point Starter Kit at launch. This is a development kit based on the community-supported GNU/Linux. The SDK contains:
  • Linux Support Package (LSP) - The LSP contains the drivers for the on-chip peripherals for an AM1x device and EVM peripherals.
    • Developers who require further technical details on the Linux drivers should click "Get Software", go to the software download page, and reference the Driver Data Sheet for the specific LSP.
  • Bootloading
    • Bootloading (u-boot) software to boot Linux from a variety of peripherals.
  • Profibus
    • Profibus DP Slave Application Layer Stack from Technologie Management Gruppe (TMG)
    • Certified by ComDeC, a Profibus certification lab hosted by Siems AG
    • SDK includes an evaluation license for FREE. One-time production license can be obtained from TMG
