Description

The TIDA-01602 TIkit reference design features two separate USB C designs on one breakable PCB board. The two designs are a 20-V, 60-W minimum barrel jack to USB Type-C Power Delivery (PD) converter and a USB Type-A to USB Type-C converter. Each design shows how simple, affordable, and small a solution can be using TI's USB Type-C PD and USB Type-C controllers.

  • Barrel Jack to Type-C: 5 V, 9 V, 15 V, or 20 V charging at 3 A
  • Barrel Jack to Type-C: USB PD 2.0 Certified controller and USB PD 3.0 Compliant Provider
  • Barrel Jack to Type-C: Charges Type-C PD laptops including Apple MacBook, Huawei MateBook, and HP Spectre
  • Type-A to Type-C: USB Type-C charging at 1.5 A max
  • Type-A to Type-C: Integrated power switch in Type-C source controller
  • Type-A to Type-C: Automatically adjusted Type-C current advertisement based off Type-A port capabilities
