Description

The heart of this reference design is the Analog Front End – ADS1293 from Texas Instruments. It provides 3 high resolution digital ECG channels with simultaneous pace output. The ADS1293 consumes low power of 0.3mW/channel and has a low input referred noise. Another aspect of this reference design is the wireless feature via Bluetooth low energy SOC. The CC2541 has a built in microcontroller (8051) that interfaces with ADS1293 and transmits the ECG data to a smartphone or a tablet. The reference design also incorporates a low-cost pcb trace antenna for the Bluetooth Low Energy.

Features
  • 3 high resolution digital ECG channels with simultaneous pace output
  • Low power on the ADS1293 AFE 0.3mW/channel
  • Low input referred noise:7uVpp (40Hz bandwidth)
  • Incorporates a low cost pcb trace antenna for the Bluetooth Low Energy
  • Provides a reference design to customers to easily add wireless feature with a powerful Bluetooth SOC – CC2541
  • Terminal jack for power allows customers to connect a ~3.6V external battery to the design and perform testing
