Protection circuitry is a critical -- often overlooked -- segment of power supply design. Luckily, TI has you covered!

Any time your system needs to provide DC power from board to board, across a cable or backplane, or just turn on or off a subsystem while the primary system is running, possibly dangerous current and voltage spikes need to be considered. Also, systems with multiple supplies must often prevent reverse current flow in each input path. Providing a pass element (like a MOSFET) and control circuitry are critical to control the initial current inrush to your capacitors or control which input source is active, while additional features may be required to prevent overcurrent events or obtain safety approvals. TI's portfolio of integrated FET circuit protection devices, or external FET controllers, provide a range of solutions, no matter what your design may be!


TPS2420/1 Hot Swap Manager
  • Input Voltage Range from 3V to 20V
