Displays come in all shapes, sizes and technologies. Sending data to the display also varies greatly from the ultra-low power, short-haul links using Flatlink3G to long, robust links in automobiles using FPD-Link II and III interfaces.

FPD-Link III SerDes delivers 720p tablet-like experience in automotive displays

The DS90UH927Q-Q1 serializer and DS90UH928Q-Q1 deserializer simplify delivery of content-protected HD digital video and audio from the head unit to LCD touchscreens throughout the vehicle. Both chips carry digital video, audio and bidirectional I2C control signals concurrently over a single twisted-wire pair using the HDCP interface protocol – without software overhead and with fewer wires, reducing power consumption, cost and weight.

  • Simplify system design and eliminate the need for costly microcontrollers and FPGAs: HDCP encrypt/decrypt keys are implemented in the SerDes on-chip memory,
  • Lowest possible EMI solution: LVDS inputs and outputs allow all of the signaling to be differential
  • Color rich, 720p tablet-like experience: 5 to 85 MHz pixel clock and 24-bit pixel depth combine with white balancing, frame rate control dithering and 7.1 audio support
  • Adaptive cable EQ compensates cable loss: DS90UB928Q-Q1 adapts automatically to the cable length (0 to 10 m) and the condition or age of the cable
