Ethernet is a family of frame based networking technologies for LANs (Local Area Networks). It defines the electrical and protocol layers and is standardized in the IEEE 802.3 standards. Ethernet dates back to the 1980s, and remains very popular today.

  • The Renesas RX62N Demonstration Kit (RDK) is a hardware platform that serves as a powerful debug and demonstration tool for the new RX62N 32-bit microcontroller, allowing users to quickly evaluate and customize for target applications. It incorporates the DP83640 IEEE-1588 PTP PHYTER . Schematics for a low cost version using the DP83848 are also included.
  • The Renesas SH7216 reference design demo kit lets users implement IEEE 1588 PTP applications using the Renesas Technologies 32-bit SuperH RISC processor and the DP83640 PHYTER® precision time protocol transceiver, along with an onboard LCD.

  • The Renesas RX62N Demonstration Kit (RDK) is a hardware platform that serves as a powerful debug and demonstration tool for the new RX62N 32-bit microcontroller, allowing users to quickly evaluate and customize for target applications. It incorporates schamtics for the DP83848 as well as the DP83640.
  • The Altera/Arrow BeMicro Nios II Software Development Kit (SDK) is a complete evaluation platform to create, compile, run and debug with Altera's Nios II processor, enabling easy and affordable customization of an embedded processor solution. The kit incorporates the small form factor DP83848 PHYTER with Altera's Nios II Configurable 32-bit Embedded Processor in a USB stick format.
  • MotionFire Motion Control Reference Design by Arrow Electronics

    Texas Instruments in collaboration with Arrow Electronics and Altera developed a complete FPGA-based motor control platform with industrial communication interfaces.

    MotionFire consists of:

    * FireFighter main board: FPGA and communications board
    * FireDriver module: Motor drive power module

    A total of six galvanically isolated FireDriver plug-in power modules can be connected to the FireFighter logic platform to provide 24 phases or support for up to 12 motors. These generic 4-phase drivers provide up to 10A per phase at a DC bus voltage of 50VDC, have a 12A input current protection and are available with protected and filtered encoder and/or Hall Effect sensor inputs. Back EMF sensing on three phases facilitates the implementation of sensor-less drives, while synchronized ADC sampling is possible on all phases within the same PWM cycle.

  • EVK1100 by Atmel
    Atmel launch the EVK1100 with ethernet support (DP83848). This coincides with the press release this week announcing the world's lowest power 32-bit Flash MCU with Ethernet and USB On-the-Go.
  • MCB2300 Evaluation Boards by Keil
    The NXP MCB2300 Evaluation Boards by Keil introduces you to the NXP LPC23xx series of ARM microcontrollers and allows you to create and test working programs for this advanced architecture. Two versions of the board are available: the MCB2360 for the 100-pin LPC2368 and the MCB2370 for 144-pin LPC2378. These evaluation systems feature the DP83848IVV PHYTER for their Ethernet connectivity.

DP83815 MacPhyter II DP83816 MacPhyter II TI Reference Design Board: "This NIC demonstrates basic 10/100 Ethernet functionality. The MacPHYTER-II Demo Board is a half-height PCI board, which contains the magnetic and support logic, to enable half- and full-duplex 10Mb/s and 100Mb/s Ethernet in a standard PCI slot. In addition, it includes a Wake On LAN (WOL) header, which allows it to support the latest remote wake-up functions. When accompanied with different drivers, a user is enabled to use this card with full Ethernet functionality in a wide variety of operating systems."
