SafeTI™–60730
 |
IEC 60730 is a functional safety standard for automatic electrical controls for household and similar use.
Examples of these appliances include:
- Washing machines
- Refrigerators
- General household electrical controls
- DC arc-detect solutions
- Power tools
- Solar and power converters
- Electric bikes
SafeTI-60730 design packages for functional safety applications include software libraries developed in accordance with IEC 60730:2008 requirements to support safety systems of Class B or Class C. These design packages help manufacturers of automatic controls for household and similar use, to more quickly and easily achieve applicable system certification. |
TI Standards Compliance Certification for SafeTI-60730
Where indicated, SafeTI products and/or processes have been assessed and certified compliant to specific functional safety standards by independent 3rd party assessors.
SafeTI™ Products & Targeted Customer Applications
For SafeTI-60730 software libraries, hardware components supported by the software library are noted. The software library Class capability is determined by application of systematic requirements from standard. Achieved class will vary based on customer implementation. Determination of suitability for use in IEC 60730 applications is the responsibility of the system designer, who must take into account application specific functional safety requirements.

 |
The C2000 MCU SafeTI-60730 Software package includes UL-certified, as recognized components, SafeTI™ software packages that help make designing for functional safety consumer applications with TI C2000™ real-time control microcontrollers (MCUs) easier and faster. The software in these SafeTI software packages is UL-certified, as recognized components, to the UL 1998:2008 Class 1 standard, and is compliant with IEC 60730-1:2010 Class B, both of which include home appliances, arc detectors, power converters, power tools, e-bikes, and many others. SafeTI software packages are available for select TI C2000 MCUs and can be embedded in applications using these MCUs to help customers simplify certification for functional safety-compliant consumer devices. Because of the similarity of the two standards, the IEC 60730 software libraries can also help assist customers developing consumer applications compliant with the IEC 60335-1:2010 standard. |

The SafeTI MSP430 software package was developed to be useful in assisting customers in complying with IEC 60730-1:2010 (Automatic Electrical Controls for Household and Similar Use – Part 1: General Requirements) for up to Class B products, which includes home appliances, arc detectors, power converters, power tools, e-bikes, and many others. SafeTI software packages can be embedded in customer applications running on MSP430s to help simplify the customer’s certification efforts of functional safety-compliant consumer devices to IEC 60730-1:2010 Class B. |
Code composer tools

|
 |
Code Composer Studio™ (CCStudio) is an Eclipse-based integrated development environment for TI's DSPs, microcontrollers and application processors. CCStudio includes a suite of tools used to develop and debug embedded applications. It includes compilers for each of TI's device families, source code editor, project build environment, debugger, profiler, simulators and many other features. CCStudio provides a single user interface taking users through each step of the application development flow. Familiar tools and interfaces allow users to get started faster than ever before and add functionality to their application thanks to sophisticated productivity tools. |
C2000 MCU control cards

|
 |
controlCARDs for C2000 put the microcontroller and all necessary support devices in a standard, pin-compatible DIM-socket daughter card. With a common plug-in compatible interface, controlCARDs allow users to quickly experiment with various C2000 MCUs in our application development kits simply by plugging in a new controlCARD. controlCARDs are used across all TMS320C2000 developer kits beyond the controlSTICK platform. |
