Key Solution Features:

  • Innovative Smart Meter SoC integrates both analog front ends to measure energy, processing power and communication ports to implement application and connectivity functions. The MSP430F6736 metrology system-on-chip includes three high-performance 24-bit sigma-delta A/D converters, to support single-phase with anti-tamper meter implementations.
  • New to the industry is TI's powerful RF system-on-chip for 2.4-GHz IEEE 802.15.4, 6LoWPAN and ZigBee® applications ® perfect for smart e-meters. It combines a powerful ARM Cortex M3-based MCU system with up to 32K on-chip RAM and up to 512 K on-chip flash with a robust IEEE 802.15.4 radio.
  • The cost-effective high-efficiency, synchronous switching regulator that can provide better than 90% efficiency at light loads. It provides accurate regulation for a variety of loads across temperature and features several capabilities including adjustable slow start and cycle by cycle current limiting.
  • The small-footprint and low-power 2/1 Triple Channel Digital Isolator with Noise Filter, is a perfect companion to the common subsystems in a smart meter. These low-power isolators provide up to 2500 Vrms galvanic isolation for 1 minute per UL and 4242 Vpk per VDE, and are capable of handling speeds of up to 50 Mbps.
