Award-winning SIMPLE SWITCHER DC/DC converters deliver robust power supplies with the minimum set of external components. All SIMPLE SWITCHER products work with the enhanced WEBENCH Power Designer end-to-end design and prototyping tools.

The LM285x series of SIMPLE SWITCHER® buck regulators support switching frequencies from 500kHz to 1.5MHz and can drive up to a 4A load with exceptional power conversion efficiency, line and load regulation, and output accuracy. The LM285x series can accept an input voltage rail between 2.85V and 5.5V to deliver an adjustable and highly accurate output voltage as low as 0.8V.

Externally established soft-start with a small capacitor facilitates controlled start-up, and the LM2854 is capable of starting gracefully into a pre-biased output voltage.

While both the LM2852 and LM2853 feature internal type-three compensation thus greatly simplifying external component selection, the LM2854 features partial internal compensation to preserve flexibility in using ceramic and/or electrolytic based load capacitors. All members of the LM285x series are available in exposed pad TSSOP packaging that enhances the thermal performance of the regulator.
