With the SensorTag app, you can build your own iOS app in minutes. It allows quick and easy prototyping of simple sensor applications. The Bluetooth® SensorTag kit supports iBeacon™ technology from Apple.

Supported iOS devices

To use the SensorTag, a Bluetooth low energy (4.0 or newer) device is required and the device API must support Bluetooth low energy. Currently the following iOS devices are supported:

  • iPhone 4S and newer
  • iPad (3rd Generation) and newer
  • iPad mini
  • iPod touch (5th Generation) and newer

The new Android SensorTag app gives you control of all sensors, and configures your SensorTag kit before connecting it to the cloud. The Android SensorTag app can be downloaded on Google Play. The full source code for the app is available here.

Supported Android devices

To use the SensorTag, a Bluetooth Smart (4.0 or newer) device is required and the Android API 18 (Android 4.3) must be supported. For the best experience, Android 5.0 is recommended. The SensorTag app is tested on the following Android devices:

Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)

  • Google Nexus 5
  • Google Nexus 6
  • Google Nexus 7

Android 5.0 (Lollipop)

  • Samsung Galaxy S4
  • HTC One

The SensorTag app will scan for SensorTag kits nearby and list them for connection. It allows you to identify the SensorTag kits by address and give them custom names
