Overview

This reference design is for powering high current, low voltage ASICs and FPGAs from a 5-V or 12-V rail.  The design is optimized for high-density and supports PMBus with current, voltage and temperature telemetry, if desired.  A test report is included.

  • Uses four TPS546D24A 40-A converters to create a 160-A supply with only four parts
  • Small double-sided design occupies one square inch each side per phase
  • Tested cut-and-paste design for powering high-current ASIC core rails
  • High speed on board dynamic load for testing to stringent dynamic load requirements
  • Fusion Digital Power Designer GUI enables easy prototyping through PMBus and manufacturing script generation
