For Mohammad Yunus, volunteering for a hunger-free world is a personal passion that stems from his upbringing in India.

“As a child, I witnessed poverty and people struggling with access to food,” said Yunus, senior vice president, Technology and Manufacturing Group. “I have seen similar challenges in our communities, and that’s why I’m motivated to spend more time volunteering.”

Yunus’ story is one of many from TIers around the world who are passionate about giving back to their communities, a key component of our company’s overall corporate citizenship focus.

In 2024, as outlined in our annual corporate citizenship report, we continued to make progress toward building stronger communities, fostering a great and safe workplace for TIers, and reducing our environmental impact.

Highlights include:

  • 305,000 hours volunteered by employees and retirees
  • $57 million given by TI, the TI Foundation, employees, retirees and other giving
  • Saw our lowest recordable case rate since 2020
  • 200+ efficiency projects implemented to reduce our environmental impact

Building stronger communities

Our culture of giving dates back to our founders, who had a history of philanthropy and volunteerism. TI co-founder J. Erik Jonsson, for example, helped establish United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, which now serves millions of people in North Texas.

“The belief that strong companies build strong communities, and strong communities build strong companies, is just as ingrained in our culture today as it was 95 years ago when we were founded,” said Andy Smith director of Giving and Volunteering and executive director of the TI Foundation.

At the heart of our spirit of giving back is an ambition to be a company that we’re personally proud to be a part of and would want as our neighbor.

“One thing that I see that is common no matter where a TI office is and where a TIer is located is that all of them have the same passion for having a positive impact on the community,” said Yunus.

In 2024, our generous employees volunteered nearly 305,000 hours in areas like STEM education, with more than $57 million in giving by TI, the TI Foundation, TIers and retirees to meet local needs. The TI Foundation's matching gift program amplified this impact with $12.5 million in financial and volunteering matching requests in 2024.

“The impact of Texas Instruments extends far beyond financial investment,” said Jennifer Sampson, President & CEO of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. “TI sets a high standard for corporate citizenship, demonstrating how engaged employees can create lasting, positive change in communities worldwide.”

Fostering career growth and safe workplaces

Our success relies on attracting and retaining the best talent. We strive to create an environment where employees are excited about their future, have ample growth opportunities and get to work alongside problem-solvers who are tackling the world’s greatest engineering challenges.

“TI provides an environment for personal development and impactful work in every position," said Yesenia Moore, vice president of Talent Management. "It's incredibly exciting to see our employees around the world contributing to TI’s success as they progress in their careers."

In 2024, we received more than 30 workplace honors, invested in employee growth (averaging 43 learning hours per TIer), and supported numerous employee resource groups that promote community, career growth and mentorship to all employees throughout the company.

We also maintained industry-leading safety performance, seeing our lowest recordable case rate since 2020 and 14 million construction hours with an exceptional safety record that significantly outperformed the industry average.

“Our strong safety results stem from our employees’ behaviors, excellent teamwork and daily commitment to living our values," said Heidi Means, the leader of our Environment, Safety, Health and Sustainability team.

Creating a more sustainable future

Environmental sustainability is another way we bring our values and ambitions to life, and continually improving in this area is something we take great pride in.

In 2024, we made progress across our long-standing environmental sustainability goals, which include reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, increasing use of renewable electricity, minimizing landfill waste, and reducing water consumption.

In 2024, we announced new environmental sustainability targets with the goal to reach 100% use of renewable electricity across our global operations by 2030

“It’s exciting to be a part of a company that is taking steps to reduce our environmental impact,” said Heidi. “Our focus on creating efficiencies across our global operations is paving the way for a more sustainable future.”

We’re also empowering our customers to adopt technologies that contribute to a more sustainable and safer world.

  • Gallium nitride (GaN) technology enhances the power efficiency of solar inverters and battery storage, enabling more power output with fewer energy losses.
  • Smart and connected power management, sensing and real-time control technologies in data centers, industrial automation and energy grids minimizes energy waste and maximizes system efficiency.
  • Advanced radar sensing and automotive processors with edge AI enhance driver safety, detecting hazards that human eyes might miss.
  • AI-enabled automation helps robots monitor factories for safety risks, detect product defects and streamline logistics.

As our company lives out a passion to create a better world by making electronics more affordable through semiconductors, we’re building on our long-standing commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen and a good neighbor. Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue shaping the future of our communities, workplace and environment in meaningful ways.
