Where innovation meets impact
How we’re driving innovation in our workplace, upholding our commitment to being a good neighbor in our communities, and creating a sustainable future
Not all technological breakthroughs start in a lab. Some start in communities.
For decades, TI and the TI Foundation have worked to strengthen and improve the quality of life in our global site communities through thoughtful investments and employee giving and volunteering programs. We remain committed to supporting human services, the arts, and a wide range of community initiatives, with education serving as a primary philanthropic priority.
Key education programs include district-wide STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) initiatives, teacher and principal preparation and professional development programs, and awards recognizing innovative and outstanding STEM teachers.
These investments are critical as students considering a future in STEM need the right instruction and encouragement early on to become the next generation of problem-solvers.
“Teachers are so important in making sure students learn concepts that serve as building blocks for postsecondary success,” said Andy Smith, director of Giving and Volunteering and executive director of the TI Foundation. “It’s important that we support these teachers who are sculpting the leaders, innovators and changemakers of tomorrow.”
To help Dallas ISD middle school math teachers be more effective, TI granted $1.7 million to Educate Texas for the development of a powerful artificial intelligence tool that helps instructors better support students learning challenging topics.
STEM education is just one of the many ways we’re making a meaningful impact in the world. Each year, we gauge our progress in vital areas, including efforts to build stronger communities, support environmental sustainability, and create an exceptional workplace culture, and share those findings in our annual corporate citizenship report.
Keeping innovation at the core of our culture
A commitment to innovation begins with a workplace culture that actively encourages it. Yesenia Moore, vice president of Talent Management, knows firsthand that TI empowers team members to contribute and grow from day one.
“Starting out as an intern at TI, I remember being surprised that my opinions were sought after and my perspective was valued even early on,” she said. “But that’s our whole culture of innovation. We want everyone putting their thoughts and ideas on the table, including the new person who’s still figuring things out.”
In 2025, TI earned more than 30 awards worldwide, recognizing its commitment to workplace culture and the resources invested in helping TIers launch successful, rewarding careers. Yesenia highlighted the continued enthusiasm for and engagement in TI’s Career Accelerator Program, which offers rigorous training and professional development for recent college graduates.
“We’ve spent decades strengthening our new college graduate program to ensure new hires ramp into their role and integrate into TI successfully,” she said. “We do this in very tailored ways, and it looks different depending on the type of role someone is hired into.”
Additionally, in 2025, TIers:
- Benefited from a development program that gives high-performing, early-career employees an opportunity to try different roles and receive guidance from TI experts.
- Found community in employee resource groups designed to encourage open dialogue and foster a sense of belonging.
- Continued pursuing their own development with internal training resources, averaging 59 learning hours per employee.
- Participated in programs created to help individual contributors transition to management roles, gaining technical and behavioral skills for successful leadership.
Giving and volunteering to drive lasting change around the world
In addition to volunteering in local communities near our Dallas headquarters, including projects such as distributing food to those in need, tutoring elementary school students, planting trees in urban neighborhoods, and building accommodations for the disabled, TIers worldwide continually participate in efforts to drive lasting change. In 2025, our collective employee volunteerism totaled more than 250,000 service hours. We also continued advancing our goal of ensuring STEM education for all, with projects that included:
- Organizing STEM-focused classes and activities for underserved students in Shanghai, China.
- Igniting interest in STEM subjects with tactile coding projects designed for neurodiverse students in Freising, Germany.
- Launching and leading a nonprofit in Oslo, Norway, that keeps kids on the cutting edge of coding, robotics and electronics.
- Creating an after-school program that brings STEM education to low-income students in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Additionally, TI and the TI Foundation continue to make an impact through grants, matching gifts and in-kind donations that align with its focus to improve quality of life and create lasting change in the communities where the company has operations. “Giving back has been fundamental to who we are at TI since our founding – it’s about strengthening the communities where we live and work,” Andy shared. Giving from TI, the TI Foundation, our employees and TI retirees totaled a record $62 million for the year.
Innovating for a more sustainable future
Environmental sustainability is one way we live out our ambition of being a company we are personally proud to be a part of and that we would want as our neighbor, and we take pride in continually innovating for greater impact. “Working to protect the environment is an important part of our effort to be a good corporate citizen,” said Heidi Means, vice president of Environment, Safety, Health and Environmental Sustainability. “Every year, we take exciting strides forward in our sustainability journey.”
Highlights included surpassing our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions goal. After setting a target to reduce emissions by 25% before year-end 2025, we achieved a 41% reduction. Advancements in working to achieve this goal included upgrades to our manufacturing tools and technologies for greater efficiency; the installation of thermal point-of-use abatement devices in semiconductor manufacturing; and a wider use of alternative chemicals and gases. “Our achievements may boil down to numbers, but each number represents an incredible amount of work done by TIers around the globe to make it happen,” said Heidi. “It’s not just my team; it’s our factory teams and business teams all over the world.”
Additional high points for 2025 included:
- Increasing our use of renewable electricity globally to 52%, including 100% at all of our 300mm wafer fabs, and completing more than 200 energy-efficiency projects.
- Redirecting more waste to be converted into fuel and recycling more materials to divert 92% of our waste materials from landfills.
- Continuing to invest in wastewater infrastructure and treatment technologies that boosted our water reuse rate to 35%.
Pushing the limits and building a better world, one breakthrough at a time
At TI, we’re proud of our history as problem-solvers and pacesetters, always pushing boundaries to tackle what matters most. Every day, we’re working to create a better world.
Corporate citizenship is a priority, and every TIer helps advance it each day.
“Whether you’re designing chips or leading a business team, everyone here has a role to play in making an impact,” Heidi said.
