Innovative 7-Segment LCD Control Using GPIO Pins and SW

The LCD functionality of many (sub-)metering devices do not have to be always on. This is common for Heat Cost Allocators, Water and Heat Meters, where the LCD functionality gets disabled to save power. TIDA-00848 describes a TI patent-pending solution for adding 7-Segment LCD functionality to any TI MCU without on-chip LCD controller. Simple external resistive network and dedicated software drive a 4-MUX segment LCD display with CC1310 or CC1350 device.
