LLC Design Principles and Optimization for Transient Response

The half bridge LLC converter is a variation of the classical half bridge converter. This topology exhibits ZVS switching and reduced EMI signature, making this topology attractive to applications with high input voltage such as a PFC bus. Hybrid hysteretic control (HHC) enables greater loop bandwidth and while maintaining sufficient phase margin. As a result, an improved transient response with less output voltage variation is realizable.
