This presentation addresses several common concerns about using DC/DC switching regulators to power ultra-low noise applications like medical imaging equipment, test and measurement systems, and wearables/sensors. After a review of understanding, measuring, and reducing noise in power supplies with DC/DC power modules, we will compare the output noise reduction levels provided by low-noise LDOs versus second-stage filtering techniques.
