The DRV10983 is used in sensorless 3-phase BLDC motor control. The driver provides a high performance, high reliability, flexible and simple solution for appliance fan, pump, and HVAC applications. The following design in Figure 40 shows a common application of the DRV10983. For the DRV10983Z sleep mode device, a Zener diode must be placed in parallel with the 10-µF VREG capacitor as shown in Figure 40. The Zener diode must meet the requirements listed in Table 11. The following order of connections should be followed in order to avoid hot-switching and floating ground, which may cause reliability issues: 1 - GND, 2 - VCC, 3 - PWM, 4 - FG. When VCC >2.2V, order of FG and PWM doesn’t matter. Ensure FG <=VCC all the time.
