The current-sense resistor RCS1 is calculated as described in Section 7.3.3 where a traditional current-sense resistor design calculation is first performed and then multiplied by the current-sense emulation inverse gain. The traditional current-sense resistor design calculation, denoted RCS(trad), is for when the current-sense resistor is in series with the power switch and is sensing the full power-switch current.
The existence of RCS2 is dependent on the quasi-resonant controller. If RCS2 is used, the RCS2 design calculation can assume a traditional current-sense resistor with a very small value that has no impact on the RCS2 calculation. Verify that the RCS2 calculation accounts for the significant RCS1 value.
