The device communicates with the system processor through the I2C serial communication bus as an I2C slave-only device. The processor can poll the device through I2C to determine the operating status, configure settings, or run diagnostics. The device includes two I2C address pins, so up to four devices can be used together in a system with no additional bus switching hardware. The I2C ADDRx pins set the slave address of the device as listed in Table 8.
