Thermal Shutdown

The junction temperature (TJ) of the device is monitored by an internal temperature sensor. If TJ exceeds the thermal shutdown temperature, TSD, of 160°C (typical), the device enters thermal shutdown. Both the high-side and low-side power FETs are turned off. When TJ decreases below the hysteresis amount of typically 20°C, the converter resumes operation, beginning with a soft start to the originally set VOUT (there is no R2D conversion of RVSEL). The thermal shutdown is not active in power save mode.
