Thermal Shutdown

The junction temperature, TJ, of the device is monitored by an internal temperature sensor. If TJ rises and exceeds the thermal shutdown threshold, TSD, the device shuts down. Both the high-side and low-side power FETs are turned off and PG goes low. When TJ decreases below the hysteresis, the converter resumes normal operation, beginning with soft start. During a PFM skip pause, the thermal shutdown feature is not active. A shutdown or re-start is only triggered during a switching cycle. See Section 7.4.3.
