Introduction

The BQ41Z50EVM has one BQ41Z50, one BQ296xxx, and all other components necessary to monitor and predict capacity, perform cell balancing, monitor critical parameters, protect the cells from overcharge, over-discharge, short-circuit, and overcurrent in 2-, 3-, or 4-series cell Li-ion or Li-polymer battery packs. The BQ41Z50EVM can be directly connected to the cells in a battery stack. When using the BQ41Z50EVM with the EV2400 or EV2500 interface board and software, the user has the ability to read the device's data registers, program different configurations to the device, log cycling data for further evaluation, and evaluate the overall functionality of the design under different charge and discharge conditions.
