Calculations and Component Selection

The calculations specific to the LM5123 are provided to implement a boost converter operating in the continuous conduction mode (CCM) at full output power. The component calculations are based on the design parameters in Table 1-1. This procedure details how to design for a variable output voltage application, but are still valid for a fixed output voltage application. For a fixed output voltage design the VLOADmin parameter can be simply set equal to VLOADmax.
