7.4.1.1.6 External Interrupt (EXTINTn)

EXTINTn is an open-drain output type fail-safe IO buffer. The recommendation is to connect external pullup (10kΩ or 47kΩ) when a PCB trace is connected and an external input is not being actively driven. Open-drain output type IO buffer has slew rate requirements specified when pulled up to 3.3V. An RC (delay) is recommended to limit the input slew rate. The capacitor is recommended to be placed near to the processor pin.
