About the authors

Bruce Trump is an electrical engineer whose career path was set early as a boy experimenter and ham radio operator. After earning his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University, he worked on laser memory systems before joining Heath Co. in Michigan, where he designed various Heathkit products including electronic clocks, metal detectors, and high-power stereo amplifiers. Trump then joined Burr-Brown in Tucson, Arizona (acquired by Texas Instruments in 2000), where he spent his career in roles spanning product development, applications engineering, technical literature, and business management. Throughout his career, his favorite activity was addressing customer application issues, particularly developing seminars and datasheets that clearly explained precision analog components.
