DALLAS (January 30, 2001) -- Texas Instruments Incorporated will host two free one-hour Webcasts, providing a complete overview of TI's new VoIP gateway solutions and an overview of important features necessary for Remote Access/Universal Port solutions.

Participants in the VoIP gateway solutions webcast will learn about TI's five new highly integrated gateway solutions for customer premise equipment (CPE), small and medium enterprise equipment (SME), and high-density equipment. This comprehensive new VoIP gateway product offering for CPE, SME and high density gateways makes TI the only semiconductor vendor to provide a complete range of VoIP solutions for all three gateway markets as well as RAS, IP Phone, VoDSL and VoCable. These products are designed to provide original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with optimized, integrated solutions for each application area. TI's new VoIP gateway solutions provide the best power, area per channel, cost and feature set advantages available to OEMs.

TI's GoldenPort™ RAS Universal Port Solution is a complete modem, voice and fax solution that can accommodate any call type on any available port and combines maximum channel density and lowest power per channel (4x reduction in area per channel and a 2x reduction in power per channel over its nearest competitor). GoldenPort's modem termination feature currently supports dial-up modem connections such as V.90, V.34bis and various fallback rates. TI's programmable DSP-based solution also supports modem relay, fax relay, fax termination, voice over packet, signaling and network management while maintaining headroom within the DSP for including emerging features and new standards such as V.92.
