"We credit Zhone's success in worldwide ADSL trials with leading PTTs as a result of the work we have been doing with Texas Instruments and their leading ADSL technology," said David Markowitz, assistant vice president of marketing at Zhone Technologies. "By combining our strengths, Zhone and TI are able to provide the highest densities for DSLAMs and DLCs with additional services and features to expand ADSL deployments."

Zhone's Broadband Access Node (BAN™) platform for DSL, including high-speed data and voice transmission, utilize TI's DSL infrastructure products including the AC5 octal chipset. With the goal of providing the highest densities in central offices and DLCs, Zhone's innovative platform combined with TI's robust technology roadmap will continue to provide leading DSL infrastructure solutions that will provide increased functionality and revenue streams for service providers.

"Zhone is a dynamic and exciting company, one that can change the telecommunications landscape, and TI is pleased to be working with them," said Bill Eversole, general manager of TI's DSL Business Unit. "We look forward to continuing our relationship with Zhone to extend both companies' leadership positions in DSL."
