Converting Images to bits!
TI Analog and Mixed Signal Imaging Products Texas Instruments Analog and Mixed Signal Imaging Team is focused on providing high performance CCD Imaging Analog Front Ends (AFE) to the various digital imaging markets. These products can be used in many different products and segments including:
These products will continue to leverage Texas Instruments leadership in Analog and Mixed Signal by optimizing the performance of analog input interface (integration with analog to digital converters) and back end (integration with digital to analog converters) solutions. These products will enable high level integration of digital processing functionality by utilizing TI's Advanced CMOS process technologies and TI's various packaging architectures. By continuing to focus on process technologies, packaging, TI's strategy is not only to enable high performance integrated products, but cost effective solutions as well. CCD sensors are used today in most of the imaging applications that we encounter on a daily basis. CCDs sensors consist of a two dimensional array of pixels. Each of these pixels accumulates the incoming light (photons) and generates a number of electrons corresponding to the number of incoming photons. These electrons are then read out as a voltage that represents the image information for each individual pixel. A CCD AFE provides all of the of the necessary analog pre–processing functions to condition the output of a CCD sensor for digitization and a analog–to–digital converter.
